Our journey with Birra Mastino started out from our land and ultimately returned to our land.
The entire visual image with which we present ourselves to distributors, to establishments and also to the public started out from Verona, with its great history and pride. A place of culture and the joy of a city filled with all things bright and beautiful.
And we returned to Verona as farm producers, looking for lands close by that could offer us the perfect ingredients for our beer. And in the end, we found what we were looking for.
Today, exercising direct control over the entire production process, and seeing our ingredients with our own eyes as they grow before us, takes us to the height of our meticulous production process and of our detail-oriented approach. That’s just the way we are. And that’s the way our beers are made too. Taste them and you’ll see.

We take great pride in our self-produced raw materials. This was the ultimate goal that inspired the brewery from its very inception: the never-ending search for the highest quality raw materials.
The idea of brewing our beers with the best that our local area has to offer has always been one of our key objectives. After rigorous study, we can at last proudly proclaim that our barley is grown in the fertile plains just a few kilometres from our brewery.
THE HILLS OF VERONA: THE PERFECT TERROIR FOR OUR HOPS
A hops project has also been underway for some time now. In this case they are grown on the hills above the city, where we have found the best conditions for cultivating the plant. Different varieties are grown on six-metre-tall rows and, thanks to the collaboration of expert agronomists and specialists, the quality of the final products is more than a match for the finest German and American hops.

Our goal in the diverse beer market has always been to establish ourselves as a reliable producer, dedicated to creating beers with a consistent taste over time.
And indeed our beers have become renowned for their well-balanced quality and great stability, ensuring a unique flavour with every sip. Since these beers are artisanal creations, we need to pay particular attention to the slow maturation which takes place in horizontal maturation tanks. All this gives our beers the utmost clarity and purity, without the need for filtration.

In a small company, we’re more than colleagues. Quite apart from our individual tasks, we’re a family and we share the same spirit, vision, and principles. Quality is the cornerstone of Birra Mastino’s production. It can be seen in all aspects, including administration and logistics, in our punctual and efficient service, and in our collaborative work environment, which is as transparent and clear as our beers. We believe that the enthusiastic work environment, in which everyone is able to express themselves to the full, and the sense of satisfaction felt by everyone in the team is also reflected in the quality of the product.
OUR UNCOMPROMISING BREWMASTER
Mauro originally honed his skills in his family’s businesses, from the orchards, vineyards, and olive groves through to the establishment in Mezzane di Sotto.
His work as a homebrewer began more than 25 years ago and became his profession in 2007
in a craft brewery in Verona and, since 2013, at Birra Mastino Srl Agricola.
As the architect of our production process – including planning, bottling, and plant maintenance – Mauro also develops the latest recipes, together with Christian. Technology, engines, sports, music, modelling and manga take up all his free time.
His insatiable curiosity for new tastes drives his every action, including making beer.
A MANAGER WITH A PASSION FOR EXCELLENCE
Christian started out as a manager for a multinational brand before transitioning into creating and managing a marketing agency, before representing companies in the food and beverage sector.
His role as a partner and director at Birra Mastino Srl Agricola is the result of a solid career path. Commercial and administrative management remain his primary concerns but he also sees to the barley and hop fields, as well as looking after aspects of the cultivation and selection of raw materials.
Christian’s passions extend beyond work to encompass art, sailing, football, and travel. In other words, his life is a perpetual whirlwind of activity.
